Challenge

"Phenylketonuria (PKU) is an inherited metabolic disease affecting one in 10,000 to 15,000 newborns. The condition stems from impaired breakdown of the amino acid phenylalanine, which we consume in our diet.

As a lifelong disease, bringing patients together is crucial. Parents of recently diagnosed children also greatly benefit from support. Our challenge was to design a strategy that would effectively deliver information about the disease and the PKU Association to the right people." – Martin Haringa, Project Manager

Solution

We supported the PKU Association by redesigning their website, creating a design manual, developing new content and printed materials, managing their social media, and even producing a recipe calendar for their members.

Article topics ranged from healthy living and tips for adult and child patients to pregnancy, new treatment options, and hospital meal management. We also produced videos featuring patient stories and advice from MUDr. Ľudmila Potočňáková from the Children's University Hospital in Košice.

Result

We reached 188,168 people through social media ads (CPU €0.384).

On average, each person saw the ad 85 times.

The ads drove 2,795 people to the website.

Videos were viewed by 1,817 people (CPU €0.236), with organic views continuing to grow.

"Our team successfully managed the collaboration with the patient organization, created high-quality content, and handled its distribution. While we met our set metrics and educated about treatment options, the most significant impact was raising awareness about the patient organization. This enabled individuals to join a support network that not only provides information but also fosters connections between people."
