Challenge
"Pharmaceutical companies often apply to register drugs in new countries without sufficient market information. They may lack knowledge about the state of diagnosis and treatment, potential barriers, or key opinion leaders (KOLs). When a pharma company doesn't have regional coverage, we can effectively gather this data through digital means. For instance, we can conduct surveys that are easily replicable across multiple countries." – Tomas Fulajtár, Co-founder & CEO
Solution
We conducted a pilot survey in Romania. First, we created an online questionnaire. Then, we began gathering contacts of doctors who treat the disease. We're thankful for our local partners in Romania, who assisted not only with building the database but also with implementing the activity in the field. The goal was to find at least 15 doctors from 5 districts.
Result
We achieved our target: 15 doctors from 8 districts completed the questionnaire.
We identified 9 Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
These physicians were actively treating 15 patients with the disease.
Additional benefits for the client included: insights into diagnostic and treatment challenges, better understanding of treatment options (competitors), and acquisition of physician contacts.
"Having met our initial objective, we expanded the market research to two additional countries. With the help of our local partners, we efficiently managed operations from Slovakia and delivered valuable data to the client in a timely manner. This case demonstrates that when a company lacks extensive physical presence in target countries, outsourcing and adopting digital methods can be an excellent strategy."
